If you plan on visiting Vietnam any time soon, don’t take off without a prepaid SIM card. The Vietnam SIM card provides a simple, convenient, and affordable way for any traveler to make and receive those all-important calls while abroad.

The prepaid SIM card for Vietnam is a practical option for using your existing world phone as a prepaid Vietnam cell phone while you’re in the country at a better rate than you’d pay for a Vietnam cell phone rental. It’s also a trouble-free ticket to using the same options that the Vietnamese themselves use—the local Vietnamese cell phone system. The SIM chip, combined with an unlocked GSM World cell phone, helps you keep the lines of communication open without being burdened by high international roaming surcharges applicable when you use your “home” SIM card abroad. You’ll likewise enjoy the benefit of SMS text messaging, voicemail, a local cell phone number in Vietnam, and FREE incoming calls. The prepaid feature gives you complete control over your costs, and with our low domestic and international calling rates, having a cell phone in Vietnam is affordable for all. Access to customer service from your Vietnam cellular phone is available 24 hour a day, so you’ll always have assistance with any unexpected issues or questions about your calls. No yearly contract, monthly charges, or credit check is involved.

Your Vietnam SIM Card will require a SIM-unlocked GSM cell phone that supports the 900 frequency. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for your consideration. Please click here for more information.

Adding Airtime

Your Vietnam SIM card has an initial airtime balance of 100,000 VND ($6.50 USD) and a 300,000 VND ($19 USD) airtime voucher has also been included. Additional airtime is available through the purchase of airtime vouchers, also called reload codes. Airtime vouchers are available throughout Vietnam at Mobi4U shops, authorized dealers and wherever you see the Mobi4U logo displayed. Airtime is available in 4 denominations:

  • 100,000 VND ($6.50 USD)
  • 200,000 VND ($13 USD)
  • 300,000 VND ($19 USD)
  • 500,000 VND ($32.25 USD)

To add a voucher, simply scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your voucher code. When typed into the keypad of your international cell phone, the voucher will credit your SIM card the respective NIS denomination you purchased.

To find out your balance, dial 901[SEND] from your cell phone.

Service Life

If you do not top-up your balance within 180 days, your mobile phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase a new SIM card. The 180 day validity period starts the day you arrive in Vietnam and turn on your cell phone.
