The prepaid SIM card for Switzerland is a practical option for using your existing world phone as a prepaid Switzerland cell phone while you’re in the country at a better rate than you’d pay for a Switzerland cell phone rental. It’s also a trouble-free ticket to using the same options that the Swiss themselves use—the local Swiss cell phone system. The SIM chip, combined with an unlocked GSM World cell phone, helps you keep the lines of communication open without being burdened by high international roaming surcharges applicable when you use your “home” SIM card abroad. You’ll likewise enjoy the benefit of SMS text messaging, voicemail, GPRS, a local cell phone number in Switzerland, and FREE incoming calls. The prepaid feature gives you complete control over your costs, and with our low domestic and international calling rates, having a cell phone in Switzerland is affordable for all. And with per second billing increments, you will never pay more time than you actually spend talking. Access to customer service from your Switzerland cellular phone is available 24 hour a day, so you’ll always have assistance with any unexpected issues or questions about your calls. No yearly contract, monthly charges, or credit check is involved.

Your Switzerland SIM Card will require a SIM-unlocked GSM cell phone that supports the 900 and 1800 frequencies. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for your consideration. Please click here for more information.

USA, Canada, UK and Western Europe Eastern Europe, Japan and Hong Kong Rest of the world

Chf 1.80 ($1.52 USD)

Adding Airtime

Your Switzerland SIM card includes an initial airtime balance of $21 USD (CHF 25). Additional airtime is available through the purchase of airtime vouchers, also called reload codes in Switzerland. These airtime vouchers are available locally in Switzerland at Tabac shops, convenience stores, gas stations, post offices and Sunrise shops.

Airtime vouchers are available in the following denominations:

  • CHF 20 / $17 (Includes Chf 21 airtime credit)
  • CHF 30 / $25 (Includes Chf 30 airtime credit)
  • CHF 50 / $42 (Includes Chf 53 airtime credit)
  • CHF 100 / $84 (Includes Chf 106 airtime credit)

To add the voucher, simply scratch off the gray protective layer to reveal your voucher code. When typed into the keypad of your international cell phone, the voucher will credit your Switzerland SIM card the respective dollar denomination you purchased. Or you can simply dial: *131*the-voucher-code# [SEND] from your cellular phone

For your current balance dial: *121*# [SEND] from your cellular phone.

Remember you do not need to purchase another SIM card when your airtime balance is depleted; you only need a recharge voucher! Incoming calls are always completely free, even when you run out of airtime.

Service Life

Your Switzerland SIM card will have an initial validity period of 12 months. If you add airtime during this 12 month period, it will be added to your existing airtime balance and the validity of your SIM card will be extended for 12 months from that date. If you do not add any airtime during the initial 12 months, your account will be suspended for 6 months. If you do not reactivate your SIM card within those 6 months, your mobile phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase a new SIM card.
