Domestic calling rates are charged per minute for outgoing calls from your prepaid Guatemala SIM card while you are in Guatemala. All incoming calls regardless of where they originate are completely free!

International calls
International calls from your world cell phone have never been easier with your prepaid local Guatemala SIM card. All rates are charged per minute for international outgoing calls from a Guatemala SIM card while you are in Guatemala.

Adding Airtime
Your Guatemala SIM card has an initial airtime balance of 50 Q and a 100 Q airtime voucher. Additional airtime credit is available through the purchase of airtime vouchers, also called Tigo cards, not another SIM card, in Guatemala. These vouchers are available locally in Guatemala at Tabac shops, convenience stores, Elcel shops and authorized dealers.
Airtime vouchers are available in 3 denominations:
- 25 Q ($3.25 USD)
- 50 Q ($6.50 USD)
- 100 Q ($13.00 USD)
To add the voucher, simply scratch off the gray protective layer to reveal your voucher code. When typed into the keypad of your international cell phone, the voucher will credit your SIM card account the respective Q denomination you purchased.
Remember you do not need to purchase another SIM card when your airtime balance is depleted; you only need a recharge voucher! Your incoming calls are always free, even when you run out of airtime!
Service Life
If you do not recharge your SIM card within 30 days, any remaining airtime on your account will be forfeit. If you do not add airtime within 60 days, your local Guatemala mobile phone number will be recycled. The 30 day validity period begins on the day you arrive in Guatemala and load your first airtime voucher.
