The prepaid SIM card for Grenada is a practical option for using your existing world phone as a prepaid Grenada cell phone while you’re in the country at a better rate than you’d pay for a Grenada cell phone rental. It’s also a trouble-free ticket to using the same options that the Grenadans themselves use—the local Grenadan cell phone system. The SIM chip, combined with an unlocked GSM World cell phone, helps you keep the lines of communication open without being burdened by high international roaming surcharges applicable when you use your “home” SIM card abroad. You’ll likewise enjoy the benefit of SMS text messaging, voicemail, email services, GPRS (Wireless Internet), a local cell phone number in Grenada, and FREE incoming calls. The prepaid feature gives you complete control over your costs, and with our low domestic and international calling rates, having a cell phone in Grenada is affordable for all. Access to customer service from your Grenada cellular phone is available 24 hour a day, so you’ll always have assistance with any unexpected issues or questions about your calls. No yearly contract, monthly charges, or credit check is involved.

Your Grenada SIM Card will require a SIM-unlocked GSM cell phone that supports the 900 and 1800 frequencies. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for your consideration. Please click here for more information.

Adding Airtime

Your Digiflex SIM card has an initial airtime balance of EC$10 (approx. $3.72 USD) which includes 10 EC preloaded and a 15 EC airtime voucher. Additional airtime credit is available through the purchase of airtime, or FLEXtime vouchers as they are referred to locally, not another SIM card, in Grenada. These vouchers are available locally in Grenada at convenience stores, Digicel shops, authorized dealers and any hawker on the street shouting, “Get your phone cards!”

FLEXtime vouchers are available in 4 denominations:

  • EC$10 (approx. US$3.72)
  • EC$15 (approx. US$5.60)
  • EC$25 (approx. US$9.31)
  • EC$40 (approx. US$15)
  • EC$70 (approx. US$26)

To add the voucher, simply scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your voucher code. When typed into the keypad of your international cell phone, the voucher will credit your Grenada SIM card the respective EC (Eastern Caribbean Dollar) denomination you purchased.

Remember not to purchase another SIM card when your airtime balance is depleted, you only need a recharge voucher. Your incoming calls are always completely free, even when you run out of airtime.

Service Life

If you do not recharge your SIM card within 6 months, your mobile phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase a new SIM card. The 6 month period begins the day you arrive in Grenada and start using your Grenada cell phone.
