Domestic calling rates are per minute for outgoing calls within France from your local France SIM card while you are in France. All incoming calls, regardless of where they originate, are FREE. Your Mobicarte France SIM card allows you to choose between 2 calling plans, the default Classique plan is usually the better option.

Adding Airtime
Your France SIM card will include an initial airtime balance to start you off. To add credit to your France SIM card with additional airtime, you will need to purchase Mobicarte recharge cards. These vouchers may be purchased in 15 EUR, 25 EUR or 35 EUR (includes 45 EUR of credit). These airtime vouchers are available at most local convenience stores, tabac shops and petrol stations throughout France.
Mobicarte recharge vouchers are available at face value, so a 15 EUR airtime voucher will cost you 15 EUR and will credit your France SIM card 15 EUR. To add the airtime voucher to your France SIM chip, proceed as follows:
- Rub off the gray protective layer
- A 14 digit number will be revealed
- Dial 224 from your own mobile phone
- Follow the instructions you hear
Remember you do not need to purchase another France SIM card when your airtime balance is depleted, you only need a recharge voucher.
Service Life
Mobicarte airtime will expire every 2 months, however incoming calls can still be received for up to 8 months. If the airtime is not used in 2 months it is lost. If the France SIM card is not reloaded at least once every 8 months, the SIM card and its phone number will expire.
