If you plan on visiting Aruba any time soon, make sure to pack a prepaid SIM card before taking off. The Aruba SIM card provides a simple, convenient, and affordable way for any traveler to make and receive those all-important calls while abroad.
The prepaid SIM card for Aruba is a trouble-free option for using your existing world phone as a prepaid Aruba cell phone while you’re in the country at a better rate than you’d pay for an Aruba cell phone rental. The SIM chip, combined with an unlocked GSM World cell phone, helps you keep the lines of communication open without being burdened by high international roaming surcharges applicable when you use your “home” SIM card abroad. You’ll also enjoy the benefit of 31 Guilders ($17 USD) of starter airtime credit, SMS text messaging, voicemail, a local phone number in Aruba, and free incoming calls. And with per second billing, you’ll only be charged for the exact amount of time you spend on your calls. What’s more, you’ll have 24 hour a day access to customer service simply by dialing 139 from your Aruba cellular phone. No yearly contract, monthly charges, or credit check is involved.
Your Aruba SIM Card will require a SIM-unlocked GSM cell phone that supports the 900 and 1800 frequencies. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for your consideration. Please click here for more information.

Adding Airtime
Your local Aruba SIM card has an initial airtime balance of 31 Guilders ($17.00 USD). Additional airtime is available through the purchase of airtime vouchers, also called reload codes, not another SIM card, in Aruba. Airtime vouchers are available throughout Aruba at local Tabac shops, convenience stores, and all Primo authorized dealers. These reload codes are available in 4 denominations. To add the voucher, simply scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your voucher code. When typed into the keypad of your international cell phone, the voucher code will credit your Aruba SIM card the respective Guilder/Florin denomination you purchased.
The validity period of the airtime will be determined by the airtime value that is purchased:
- 15 Florins = 20 days
- 25 Florins = 30 days
- 35 Florins = 30 days
- 50 Florins = 60 days
Note: Florins and Guilders may be used interchangeably to refer to the local currency.
Remember that you do not need to purchase another SIM card when your airtime balance is depleted; You only need a recharge voucher! Your incoming calls are always free, even when you run out of airtime.
Service Life
If you do not recharge your SIM card within 6 months, your Primo Aruba prepaid cell phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase a new SIM card. The 6 month period starts the day you arrive in Aruba and start using your cell phone.
